About the World Elastomer Technology and Engineering Forum

The rapid development of China's rubber industry has achieved global attention. The International Rubber Conference 2023 (IRC2023) was successfully held in Haikou, and has been praised by experts and scholars at home and abroad. In view of the current situation, experts and scholars represented by Professor Zhang Liqun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Xi 'an Jiaotong University, agreed that China should make more voice in the world, so that more overseas enterprises and friends can understand China and get familiar with China.

To this end, after many consultations between experts and scholars, it is determined that the World Elastomer Technology and Engineering Forum (WETEF) will be held during the annual China International Rubber Technology Exhibition. The forum will invite many domestic and foreign enterprises, universities and institutions of engineering and technical personnel, experts and scholars, as well as representatives of relevant industry organizations.

The first WETEF will be held at Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai on September 19-20, 2024. It will be hosted by the Committee of World Elastomer Technology and Engineering Forum , and relevant industry associations will be invited to participate in the organization. The theme of the forum is "Innovation·Integration·Collaboration", which will follow the future evolution direction of the elastomer industry, seek technological revolutionary breakthroughs, and conduct high-level discussions on the innovative allocation of production factors, engineering applications, industrial deep transformation and upgrading, structural adjustment and optimization, energy saving and carbon reduction, and frontier exploration of the elastomer industry. At the same time, scientific research results and industrial technology exchanges. There are 7 special topics:

1. Elastomer genetic engineering and artificial intelligence

2. Design and synthesis of novel elastomer

3. Reinforcement, functionalization and intelligence of elastomer

4. Characterization & simulation of elastomer and their products

5. Green & low carbon development of elastomer and their products

6. Product digital design and advanced manufacturing

7. Industrial development and future

WETEF was initiated by China for the first time, and Academician Zhang Liqun served as the chairman of the conference. The event strives to become the highest level elastomer conference in the world, held once a year, aiming to further promote the integration and cooperation of industry, university and research in the field of elastomers worldwide, accelerate the development of new quality productivity, and provide a platform for global academic and technical research in elastomers and related fields. Enhance global influence and build a community with a shared future for mankind.
